Paula MP. en EE.UU. - Capítulo 9 - Dear Suim
Dear Suim.
Luz.
“harf”(half) “poun” (phone) “sors” (sauce)
Light.
That’s what you are.
For those who doesn’t know who is she or are new in my blog, this is Suim Park.
We met through social media a few months before I flew and we lived in the same host house together. She is from South Korea and thanks part to her, I am the person that I am today.
Suim is a year older than me but here was considered junior as me and so we shared some classes.
At the beginning of this exchange, we made our lives separate eventhough we lived in the same space because our personalities were very different. As the year went through, we started to get closer and share our thoughts and hobbies; we started to learn from each other.
Later, we began to act like sisters; you, Suim, comforted me about my small high school dramas and made me realize that I hadn’t travelled to the other side of the world to waste tears for people that didn’t deserve it. You taught me not to stress so much about everything and to live a bit more, take a chance.
Although you are older than me, we both know that I was the mom here lol. I tried to take care of you as much as possible because you were one of the only things that in my “low moments”, I knew I would always have and I wanted to be the same to you.
The first thing you guys will think when you see her for the first time, is that it looks like a girl that reads books and likes watching movies apart from taking naps; and you aren’t wrong.
But there is another part of her that will ride any risky fair attraction, that dances until she can’t stand anymore and that loves adventures.
And I will never forget all those Korean meals that she cooked. She really got my heart with that. We were a dynamic duo; she cooked it and I ate it💁🏼♀️.
She is also someone who will listen to you without judging or won’t hesitate to hold a bucket for you if you are sick and can’t do it yourself. Yes, she is that type of friend.
Let’s say that she is a person that will freak out when seeing a cockroach but will be chilling if she goes parachuting.
You make everything funnier, brighter.
I could have muted the audios of this video, but I thought that your laugh is so pure that I can’t just turn the volume off.
No one will ever understand how my heart is feeling right now. Not just mine but also hers.
I was not ready to just say goodbye to the best friend and the person who gives meaning to the word sisterhood.
We have been through so much that I can’t believe that a virus can separate us like this.
We have learned, grown, laughed, cried, overthough, enjoyed and smiled. All together.
I think that’s the word that could most define us; togetherness.
I don’t feel that a simple text like this can just summarize everything that has happened to us. But the best part is that we have done it. Sometimes life puts us on the spot to make us realize that nothing is forever and that we need to simply live, with no fears. We need to forgive to heal and look for the positive side of this experience; at least we had the opportunity to live it and we became stronger.
Keep being that honest and please, follow your dreams. You express magic through your art 🖼.
You will always be my other “harf” I hope you enjoy reading this through your “pone”
And I’m also waiting for you to cook me some Korean food with that awesome soy “source”
I love you Suim Park, you will always have a place in my house and in my heart.
From your Lil sister.
Remember that even if the world is ending, I will always be there for you. 🌍
PD: You ain’t getting rid of me that easier, we are going on vacation when all this is done girl.
